230. Just as it is impossible to obtain the eternal existence of pleasure derived from garlands and

                sandalwood, so also it is impossible to establish  the associationlessness of Jiva,  if the world and

                Ishvara are believed to be real and ever-existing.

                231.  If  Prakriti  is  imperishable  as  the  Sankhyas  say,  she  will  certainly  continue  to  produce

                attachment in the Jiva (even after the dawn of the knowledge). Also, since Ishvara is eternal, He will
                continue his hold over the Jiva. Then how is his (Jiva's) liberation possible?

                balädäpatito mäyävädaù säìkhyasya durmateù || 232||

                232.  (Doubt):  The  idea  of  attachment  of  Jiva  to  the  body  and  of  control  of  Ishvara  is  due  to

                ignorance  (Maya).  (Reply):  If  you  say  so,  then  you  happen  to  accept  forcibly  the  conception  of

                Maya, which is a violation of the shortsighted Sankhya doctrine.
