13. The Interjection






               The  words  expressing  feeling  of  joy,  sorrow,  anger  or  even  fear  are  called
          interjection.


               Examples :      (a) Bravo!     What a shot that was.


                                (b) Hurrah!    We won the match.


                                (c) Alas!   His father is no more.

                                (d) Wow!     What a lovely flower.


               Interjections are followed by an exclamation mark ( ! ).


               In the above sentences, the highlighted words show some kinds of expression

               or feeling of the mind. Such words are called interjection.
