Ideal teacher that the school needs.
For a school that is in a township. Where crime and inequalities exist,
these learners go to school seeking a place where they can be safe and
seen. Our school needs an ideal teacher who will see the learners as
human and accommodates everyone irrespective of their cultural
backgrounds. This creates an environment where teachers can connect
to the learners respecting them as stakeholders in the school. Since this
is a technical school, learners usually enjoy practical teaching and
learning aspects of practical more than theory. A passionate teacher can
create a link between practical and theory in order to make the lesson
more interesting and enjoyable for the learners, this allows the teacher to
meet learners where they are.
An ideal teacher that the school needs is the
one who is well updated in term of the relevant
content. A teacher who understands that
whenever designing the curriculum for the
learners must always draw from their personal
experiences. Looking at the context of the
school, it needs a teacher who will create a
safe learning environment where learners are
not afraid of being wrong. There is a high rate
of failure at the school and there could be
many reasons behind this, however once a
teacher creates an environment where
learners can ask questions is the beginning of
all learning. This would allow learners to fail and learn from their mistakes and be
eager to do better instead of laughing at each other for failing.
