                  Close contracts.

This chapter will look at some of the project tools and documentation
needed to inform stakeholders, to document action items and meeting minutes, and to
analyze the performance and results of the work of the project.

As the project work winds down, you’ll need to review lessons learned, obtain final
approval of the project, archive the project documents, and transition the final product
of the project to the appropriate business area.

Project managers follow processes to formally close the project. The good news

regarding these additional tasks is that much of the work you do during project closure
will help you do a better job managing future projects.

Project closure activities apply regardless of the reason the project is ending and
regardless of what point you are at in the project life cycle. Even if your project is
canceled, there is still a closeout process to perform. One of the elements of project
closure involves contract closeout, where there is a formal acceptance (or rejection) of
     the vendor’s work.

     Project Management Tools

Project managers have many tools available to help analyze project work and report on
progress. According to the CompTIA Project+ objectives, these tools include the
     following:

         Project scheduling software

         Charts

         Dashboards and status reports
