Example 3.32     In a series–parallel circuit shown in Fig. 3.65, the parallel
               branches A, B, and C are in series with branch D. Calculate:


                   i.  the impedance of the overall circuit,
                  ii.  current taken by the circuit, and
                  iii.  power consumed by each branch and the total power consumed.

               Solution:



               (i) Impedance of branch A,

                                                    Z  = 2 + j0 = 2 Ω
                                                     A


               Impedance of branch B,















               Impedance of branch C, Z  = (2 – j2) Ω
                                               C


               Equivalent impedance of the parallel circuit,
