KENNETH SHAW

                                GRADUATE OF THE YEAR:

                                                 Dylan Snell

By the age of 19, Dylan Snell had dropped out of high school and had a
criminal record. Now, with help from Goodwill, he has a bright future
                   ahead.

Dylan grew up in a comfortable home, but when the recession hit, his
father lost his job and started drinking heavily, leading to the loss of their
home. Dylan drifted away from his family, dropped out of school and got
a job at a gas station. He gave away free gas to his friends, resulting in a
                   felony theft charge.

Dylan realized he needed to make a change. On the advice of a friend,he
enrolled at Goodwill’s Excel Center to earn his high school diploma.

After graduating, he worked for 3 years at a Goodwill store.

He is now a project manager at Kirby Risk Electrical Supply, where he
works on large-scale electrical contracts — from bidding through delivery.
He has a car and a home, and has paid off his debts.

“I didn’t think I would be in any position this good now,” Dylan said. “I’m a
part of businesses going up and places being built… and that’s fulfilling.”
