Transport and communication:
34 cars (purchased more than 10 years ago & o�en off-road), providing a current non-
efficient network for transporta�on and this may affect nega�vely the system quality indica-
tors. In each state a computer, a scanner, a fax and a telephone services were made available.
Na�onal Medical Officers cars are provided with radio sets.
The number of the addi�onal zero repor�ng sites, which were included into the system were
update and expanded during 2018 to 756 sites.
It is worth men�oning that for nomadic popula�ons, insecure and hard to reach areas com-
munity volunteers were iden�fied to report any paralysis or weakness in any child in their
communi�es to the relevant surveillance officer near to their places The surveillance officer
will then con�nue the job as per the guidelines in the nearest relevant health unit.
Preparedness for importa�on:
State plans for early preparedness for picking any importa�on and containing it were up-
dated for each state and put into real implementa�on by the states authori�es in January
2018. The states and na�onal plans were reviewed during the situa�on exercises.
