FIRE SAFETY. Each location has evacuation diagrams
posted and written procedures in place. Fire extinguishers
have been strategically placed for use in the event of fire. All
employees shall acquaint themselves with the evacuation
procedures, designated outside meeting areas, and location
of fire extinguishers. Location evacuations are practiced
periodically during the year. When the alarm sounds, every
employee must stop what they are doing and immediately
evacuate the facility - no exceptions. Employees should
remember to take their Tegra issued photo identification
badge with them when they evacuate so they can re-enter the
facility if the all clear is sounded. Employees are required to
take precautions necessary to avoid any risk of a fire in their
location. Good housekeeping practices, as well as the normal
precautions when using flammable materials, are expected
of our employees. In the event of a fire, it is important that
the immediate supervisor in the area where the fire occurs be
notified. The request for outside firefighting help from the local
fire department should be made by a Company supervisor or
above (if available). If a fire should occur outside the normal
working hours when no person of management authority is
present, the employee noticing such a fire is authorized to
call the local fire department. Noncompany issued electrical
appliances (i.e., fans, desk lamps, PCs, monitors, telephones,
pencil sharpeners, printers, letter openers, lights, calculators,
staplers, water fountains, etc.) are not allowed unless approved
by management and tagged with an approval sticker. Space
heaters are not allowed due to increased fire risk.
SAFETY TRAINING. Each employee is required to receive
specific safety training. Individual training will be based on
the individual’s job assignment. For example, production
employees will have lock out/tag out training, while other
employees may not. Your supervisor, maintenance or safety
committee member will provide your training. It is imperative
that you understand all aspects of the training provided to you.
