Page 42 - Fuck the Matrix The Removal of Any Black Man´s Confusion
P. 42
As you gain confidence, you may want to avoid hubris. After all, you want to have
the opportunity to defend yourself should someone decide to attack you. As a
matter of fact, you may want to intentionally share some vulnerabilities. If you have
no shortcomings and sense that you are perfect, use this very same fucked up belief
in a conversation and be understanding of anyone’s laughter or ridicule.
Look! It may take a lifetime to rid your psyche of the lies you have accepted. And
people talk about faking it until you make it. Damn that! If you want to position
yourself to make it, skip the over-priced jeans and the sneakers that won’t improve
your game. Get your level of confidence up! Your confidence will do more for you
than some clothes that were designed for a social stratum with disposable income.
The idea of practice making you perfect is a lie. It’s not going to happen. It would be
better for you prepare yourself for whatever it is you need to do. You can rehearse
your act, study and critique what it is that you do. Focus on what you want and
improve it with repetition. When you feel that you can do what it is that you do
without much thought, you have attained the confidence you need to do it
successfully.
You don’t have to go out and make lots of mistakes by forcing yourself into action or
fighting the fear. It is better to embrace the concept of failure. So many times we run
from fear. We stop trying because we are afraid of failing. However, we can
deconstruct our experiences with failure and learn from them opposed to not having
the courage to progress.
Your confidence will actually be a manifestation of your acceptance of fear and
failure.
It took time for Neo to understand his value. He looked within, but he didn’t believe
in himself. Certainly, he was intrigued. Plus, he listened to Morpheus. And Morpheus
definitely saw something in him. And The Oracle let him go with that belief because
as she said earlier, "No one can tell you you're The One. You just know it." The Oracle
didn’t need Neo to open his mouth for an inspection. She was wise enough to know
more about him than he understood about himself.
The Oracle: Sorry, kid! You got the gift, but it looks like you're waiting for something.
Neo: What?
The Oracle: Your next life, maybe. Who knows? That's the way these things go.
