Selwyn Spring Show 19/10/2019 – 8:00am-4:00pm
Ellesmere A&P Showgrounds, 1650 Leeston Road.
The 149th Selwyn Spring Show, (celebrating everything Selwyn), is a full day’s entertainment of all the traditional
show animals and activities plus more modern competitions like Muster Chef, Wearable Arts and Selwyn’s
Got Talent. Come see the World Mounted Games Challenge bringing together teams from around the world.
Entertainment includes a variety of bands, sideshows, shearing and wood chopping and the ever popular animal
farmyard. There is sure to be something for everyone, so come and see what New Zealand’s biggest one day show
has to offer. Tickets are $15, with children under 12 free.

The Hororata Parish Spring Fair 28/10/2019 – 9:30am-2:00pm
Hororata Domain, 102 Hororata Rd, Hororata. Entry is free. Held wet or fine.
The Hororata Parish Spring Fair has been part of the Hororata landscape for many years.
This annual traditional country fair is a “must-do” for many people with an emphasis on family
entertainment. Among the many attractions, like stalls offering delicious homemade jams and
speciality foods, handmade crafts, a wide range of plants and a large selection of second-hand
books, there will be the always-popular Country Auction featuring locally made garden art.
Hororata Highland Games 9/11/2019 – 9:00am-5:00pm

The 9th Hororata Highland Games celebrates Scottish and Kiwi culture to create a captivating festival.
Watch the Scottish competitions while immersing yourself in the festival atmosphere. There is a huge
variety of stalls, food vendors and entertainment. ‘Have A Go’ at tossing a caber, archery or the mighty
Tugging Rig. Connect to your Scottish heritage with the Clans or discover medieval crafts and Knight
combat demonstrations while listening to International Celtic singer Steve McDonald. New in 2019 is the
‘Best Dressed Lads and Lassies’ competition. Save 35% on tickets on sale until 21st October.
Rolleston Fireworks 9/11/2019 – 5:00pm-10:00pm
Foster Park, access from Broadlands Drive or Dynes Road, Rolleston.
Entry: 5yrs & under free, 6-16yrs $5, 17yrs & over $10, Family Pass (2 adults & up to 3 kids) $25.
Join us for fun activities for all ages: bouncy castles, thrill rides, rock painting, performances
and live music from local groups, food and drink and a SPECTACULAR FIREWORKS DISPLAY.
Organised by the Community for the Community. Over 30 stalls will be there to help make your
day an enjoyable one, so be sure to get along and support this event.

Selwyn Motorfest 24/11/2019 – 10:00am-3:00pm
Helpet Park, 630 Springston-Rolleston Road, Rolleston (opposite Rolleston College)
The Selwyn Motorfest and Family Fun Day is an annual charity event to benefit the
Selwyn district. It is made up of volunteers and all proceeds are donated to the community.
The event is a very large vehicle display with food and market stalls and entertainment for families.
The first year $28,000 to St John Ambulance, second year $15,000 Westpac Air Rescue Trust and $2,500 to local
schools, etc. Beneficiaries for this year are yet to be confirmed.
