SOLUTION TO RURAL
ISSUES
As Nigeria diversifies its economy and moves
away from an overdependence on oil, it is
important that we all engage in impact investing
to maximise our potential as a nation.
The rural communities do not really need much
in terms infrastructure. Most rural communities
just need to be able to meet the basic essential
needs of life like having pipe-borne water,
electricity, graded roads / footpaths and schools.
Many rural communities practice subsistence
farming, so feeding is not a prevalent issue for
them. They sometimes face malnutrition which
can be corrected with proper education.
With electricity, the communities can power their
pumping or borehole machines to get clean and
safe water. They can illuminate their environment
so children can study and do homework after
school hours. They can charge devices that
enable them to connect with the world.
