I first met Peter and Sheila Esland at the Keeshond Club show in
1985 and from that day have enjoyed a friendship that has lasted
for 40 years.
Peter was always there to support Sheila, quietly watching her in
the ring and helping with their girls. They had started out with
Trixie in 1966, a much loved companion who died aged 13 years
in 1979. In 1980 they acquired Mandy (Quendakees Rhapsody)
from Ruby Deeprose and in 1984 Lucy (Duroya Marietta) joined
the family from Audrey Woodiwiss.
We both bred our first litters around the same time and from theirs
came the beautiful Ch. Trixkees Taffeta. Meg started her show
career by going best MP in show at BUBA and easily gained her
st
title, receiving her 1 CC from the late Pam Luckhurst. Meg in turn
produced a litter and her daughter Ch Trixkees Amanda gave them
another home bred champion. They continued to attend shows
for some years before being content with just having Keeshonds
as companions and friends.
Peter was kindness itself and would help anyone. For many years
they ran a successful pet supplies stall on Chesterfield market,
always going the extra mile to help anyone.
