GENERAL INFORMATION FOR FACULTY AND STAFF
HUMAN RESOURCES
COMPENSATION ARRANGEMENTS
Contracts at Renbrook are issued on an annual basis; there is no tenure and employment is "at will." The Head
of School may decide not to renew employment if, in the Head of School's sole discretion, enrollment needs
change and the position is no longer a viable one, or no longer meets the school's needs. There is no
guarantee that a person, whose contract is not renewed, will then be moved into another position, since skills
and competencies do not always fit into another slot. In case of enrollment changes, an attempt will be made
to do what is fair and reasonable. However, the school cannot be expected to maintain employment when the
number of students does not justify a position. The school will strive at all times to fill positions with the best
qualified people available, whether they transfer from within the school or come from without.
Annual compensation for administration, staff, and faculty is paid in twelve equal installments beginning on
th
August 15th of each year and continuing through July 15 . Each employee of the school will meet with the
Head of School in the spring to discuss individual contracts.
Employees hired after August 1, 2004 are required to participate in the school's program of direct deposit of
paychecks.
DRESS CODE
Faculty and staff must adhere to a professional standard of dress. Suitable, appropriate attire sets a strong
example for our students and leaves a positive impression with current parents, admission visitors, and other
guests. Renbrook is not a casual workplace. Even during warm weather and on dress-down days, employees
need to maintain a professional appearance unless noted by the Head of School.
Female employees are requested to observe the following guidelines:
• Skirts, blouses, tops, dresses, jackets, sweaters, pants, and dressy capris are acceptable
• Dresses/skirts should be no shorter than just above the knee
• Exposed cleavage, see-through, and skin-tight clothing do not project a professional image.
Male employees are requested to observe the following guidelines:
• Shirt, tie, long pants, socks, and closed-toed dress shoes are acceptable.
No employee should wear the following: (unless it is a School Spirit Day or noted by the Head)
• Blue jeans • T-shirts
