procedures, such as stating whether they have ever been convicted of a crime or whether criminal
charges are pending as well as checks of the Department of Children and Families child abuse and
neglect registry. The applicant must also provide contact information for all current and former
employers in jobs involving contact with children, and allow the school to inquire whether the applicant
has a history of sexual misconduct, child abuse or neglect.

LENGTH OF YEAR, LENGTH OF DAY
Faculty and Staff are expected to be at school for special meetings as may be designated by the Head of
School before, during and after the academic year. Faculty are required to attend graduation, and to be
present for the workdays that follow graduation. In addition, faculty are expected to have their classrooms,
teaching aids, and other equipment ready to begin instruction on the first day of class. This implies the need
for faculty to spend time at school in preparation before the opening meetings.

        All full-time faculty are on duty by 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., M-Th. and 7:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
        on Friday.

The school day officially ends at 4:00 p.m. Upper School faculty are with their students, either in study hall or
on the playing fields, until that time. Full time faculty in Lower School should regard the time from 3:00 until
4:00 p.m. as extra help time for students and planning time. All faculty are requested to leave Monday
        afternoons free for meetings.

        Non-School Hours
Non-School Hours are in effect when the school is not in academic session. Offices will open at 9:00 a.m. and
close at 3:00 p.m. – with the exception of the week before the start of school when School hours will be in
        effect.
Chaperoning of dances, field trips, etc., is an additional obligation of the Upper School faculty. When teams
return to school after normal dismissal and pick-up time, coaches are required to assume
responsibility for both the safety and deportment of team members. They should remain in charge
until locker rooms are cleared, and before leaving they should ensure that students have been picked up.
Never leave a child alone at school when other school personnel have left for the day.

        OBLIGATIONS IN MATTERS OF DEPORTMENT
            • Every faculty member is expected to oversee and encourage suitable student behavior at all-school
activities, whether or not the students are the ones for whom the faculty member has classroom
               responsibility.
            • Faculty deportment should reflect good taste and sound judgment. Appropriate dress, language, and
behavior on the faculty's part set a tone conducive to the students' acquisition of good standards. If
the taste and judgment of a faculty or staff member fail to set acceptable standards for students, the
Head of School will request cooperation of the individual. If the faculty or staff member fails to bring
his/her dress, language, or behavior to acceptable standards after the request, he/she will be subject
to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
            • Renbrook is a smoke-free campus.
            • All employees who use the faculty room are earnestly requested to help keep it clean and orderly.
Students should not enter the faculty room without permission and may use the photocopier only with
the written permission of a faculty member.
            • Faculty bear responsibility for the appearance of their rooms, labs, and locker rooms.
