Snoozer and Cruiser
When you feel as if you are just snoozing and cruising, you kinda feel like you are
having a ‘light’ sleep. Not only is this due to menopause, but also because, as
child-bearing and rearing females, our brain biology is geared up for listening for
children’s cries in the night! Yes, totally true! So, old habits kick in when lowering
oestrogen levels interfere with melatonin. When you are awake, your brain is busy
thinking about all sorts of concerns. This is also impacted by the lowering of your
mood and worry hormone, called serotonin. When oestrogen is low, so too is
serotonin. These two hormones operate together.
