Desperate and Despairing
If you feel desperate and despairing, then you aren’t alone. Averaging around 3-4
hours sleep a night with night sweats and hot flushes is common during
menopause. Your night sweats occur because your body is trying to cool down, so
your thyroid hormones are working overtime at night too. But night after night of
not sleeping and sweating, causes increased inflammation in your cells and
tissues. With increased inflammation you wake up even more. And guess what?
After a few nights, your brain reads this as your new ‘routine’.
