This is what acupuncture and Chinese herbal

medicine do. They work to make the body function

as efficiently as possible so the affected tissues heal

as much as possible as quickly as posible. This

process, however, still takes time.

Because the factors which affect function and

healing are so complex and no one wants to waste

time or money, the strategy we use is fairly simple.

We start you off with a certain number of

treatments - 3 - 6 if the problem is acute and less

severe or about 9 - 12 treatments if the problem is

chronic or more severe. Herbal medicine is also

given in many cases.

Once the pain or symptoms begin to decrease,

we finish up that round of three acupuncture

treatments and simply have you monitor your pain

and/or symptoms, usually while continuing the

herbal medicine for a month or more. The

continued herbal medicine helps provide additional

nutrients and signals to help the body to heal. As

long as you continue to improve and symptoms or

pain does not return, your body is fine and it has
