New Matter Intake
Overview
• Matters opened prior to May 30, 2016:
o These matters are not available in New Matter Intake (NMI).
o Any changes for these matters, such as accident location or date of loss, are to be made in the CMIS.
o Any change to a matter in the CMIS will send an email notification to the Matter Audit group to prompt
them to make the change in 3E.
• Matters opened after May 30, 2016:
o Any changes for these matters are to be made in New Matter Intake.
o For more information, see the Update client information section of the New Matter Intake manual.
• Any field with an orange square means the field is required.
• Any change to a critical field will result in a new Conflict Search ID.
o Critical fields are Date of Loss, Accident Location, Description of Loss, and Related Parties.
• This form was created to only require information needed for a conflict check. Return to the form at any time to
enter additional information or update the matter.
• Double check spelling, grammar, and content integrity before selecting Submit!
Retainer Invoices
• Accounting can create a Billed On Account invoice, which will show as past due and will also be collected on until
the funds are received.
• E-mail Accounting to have a Billed On Account generated.
Access New Matter Intake
• To access New Matter Intake from the 3E Dashboard, select New Matter Intake:
Enter a New Matter
Matter Number
• Matter Number is automatically assigned once the required information has been entered and the form has
been submitted.
Matter Status
• Pending is the status given to the matter upon submitting the new matter for a conflict search.
• Once the matter passes through conflicts and is approved, the status of the matter is Administration Required.
