New Matter Intake



        Office
            •  Defaults to the office of the person who is submitting the form but is an editable field.
            •  If the opening timekeeper is changed to one in a different office, the Office field will need updated.
            •  Office should be the office who received the matter. Once the Matter Number is populated, the office can be
               changed to the office who is working the matter.

        Open Tkpr
            •  Defaults to the person who is submitting the form but is an editable field.
            •  To change the opening timekeeper, type in their last name or the timekeeper’s employee number and press
               Enter.
            •  If there are multiple people with the same last name, select the timekeeper by double clicking the applicable
               row.
            •  This field should not be changed after the initial conflict check.

        Open Date
            •  The day we took the matter in. Be sure to use the correct date, particularly if the matter was taken in over the
               weekend.
            •  The Matter Open date determines the date on which time and costs can be entered.
                   o  Shortcut keys:  t= today; y= yesterday
            •  The date can be entered in various formats and the field will auto correct.
                   o  04012016 will default to 4/1/2016
                   o  040116 will default to 4/1/2016
                   o  04/01/16 will default to 4/1/2016

        Intake Source
            •  Use the dropdown to select how we received the job -or-
            •  Type in the first letter of the word (Email, Phone, Web, Meeting, Mail, Facsimile, Deposition) and the word will
               auto fill.

        SEA Associate Assigned
            •  If the timekeeper being assigned is known at the time of entering the matter, type in the last name and press
               Enter -or-
            •  Input a timekeeper number and press Enter.
            •  This information can be added later when the matter is assigned to a timekeeper or changed at any time.

        Matter Acknowledgement | Terms & Conditions Mailed Date
            •  Once the conflict is approved and the matter is open, enter the date the Retention Agreement is being sent to
               the client.
            •  This date will auto populate on the Retention Agreement.
            •  S-E-A has a few clients for which the Terms & Conditions are not applicable. The template will determine if the
               Terms & Conditions should print by looking at the Client Name, Carrier, and Party Client Represents fields.
