for a vending permit. But what really sold Vance on Atlanta was that they had
a really nice Jazz Station WCLK91.9 it broadcasted from Clark University and
had some of best radio personalities, and Jazz programing that Vance had
ever heard. Their play selection was top of the line. Vance felt he would be
hard pressed to find another city that had such a Jazz Jewel operating within
its city limits.

   The next couple of months that Vance had left in the military went by fast.
It had been three years since Vance had left New Orleans, now he was ready
to take on Atlanta. He had the GI Bill which provided him the money to go to
school. Vance liked business so much he decided to pursue a business
degree, at Georgia State University in Atlanta. The main campus was located
right inside of downtown Atlanta, not too far from where he located a spot for
his vending business. His classes at GSU were Monday thru Friday, from 8:30
am to 10:30 am. Monday thru Friday he would work his stand from 11:30 am
and stay until around 6:00 pm. On Saturday’s he worked his stand from 10:00
am until 6:00 pm, he sold Atlanta T- Shirts and Atlanta hats. His income from
his stand brought in around $1,500.00 thru $2,000.00 a week in the summer
season. But, in the winter season it brought in half of that amount. His initial
trip to Atlanta had really paid off well for him; Vance was able to find a nice
apartment in the Lindbergh (Buckhead) area of Atlanta. Lindbergh
(Buckhead)'s Uptown Square apartments were located just blocks north of the
Piedmont Road and Sidney Marcus Boulevard intersection.

   Vance had been living and going to school in Atlanta a little over two years
now and everything was going well. Once he finished school and had got his
degree in Business Marketing, he would finally open up his Jazz Club as plan.
And he would name it the Jazzsipper. He had been working all the time on his
