bidding for the contracts. And in return Vance made sure that Raheem had
one of the most prime spots in downtown Atlanta.
When Regina’s plane touched down in New York, she disembarked and
retrieved her bags. She began looking for Dee Dee; once they spotted each
other they embraced and rushed out to the car. Dee Dee looked worse than
Regina could ever had imagined, she looked like she had not slept in days.
Her eyes were very puffy, like she had been crying over and over. She told
Regina that she was being blackmailed. Regina grasped in shock, by whom?
And what for, she asked? Dee Dee started telling her story to Regina, said
she knew Ted had been messing around on her and she decided if it was
good enough for him to mess around on her, then it would be good enough
for her to mess around on him. So, she began seeing this guy David from the
Boston area, he portrayed himself as a self-made businessman that made
millions of dollars in the stock market as a day trader. And after she decided
to break it off with him, the guy began acting strange. Like what, Regina
asked? He threatened me physically and he said he would tell the press all
about our relationship. He demanded that I pay him monthly installments; with
the first payment due in a couple of days. By the time Dee Dee finished telling
Regina her story they were in front of Dee Dee’s home. Ted was on the road
with his team the New York Knicks; they were on a 12 game road trip in the
west coast. And her kids were with Ted’s mother and father in North Carolina.
Once inside Regina said she wanted to call Vance to let him know she had
made it to New York safely. When she did not get an answer she left a voice
message on their answering machine. Vance had their machine set to send
the calling number to his pager; which Vance had on vibrate. When he saw
