THE JAZZ SIPPER
and Regina’s wedding. One with the trumpet and one with the trombone,
Regina loved the idea. Vance knew whatever he and Regina would have,
a little boy or a little girl; he would definitely steer them into a life filled with
Jazz. Vance asked Raheem to be his best man; he also brought him into
their business as VP of Security, which paid a high six figure income alone
with a stake of ownership in their business, for the most part Regina was
happy with Vance’s selection of his best man, but wished that Raheem
would cut his braids before their wedding. Ever since their ordeal in New
York, Regina and Dee Dee had reconnected. They talked at least once a
day on the telephone with each other. Just like old times when they would
get into trouble and their fathers would find out. It was Vance who had
taken over that role now in keeping the cousins in check. Regina had
made Dee Dee her maid of honor. For some reason Vance felt that Uncle
Frank and Regina’s father were keeping him in the dark about something.
Vance felt like they had some type of history together, it was just a hunch
that Vance kept getting.
One day Vance was home relaxing watching BET JAZZ and the TV
commentator introduced the Hottest Jazz Music Manager in Europe and
it was Francesca, she was well spoken. She looked beautiful, Vance
thought. Then the commentator mentioned that her husband who in his
own right was influential in the European Jazz scene. He was in the studio
as well, that’s when Vance heard Regina making her way into the area
where he was watching TV. So, rather than go through the whole do you
really love me and I love you insanity routine, he decided to turn off the
TV and switch on the stereo. Earlier he was playing his stereo, the last
cut he was listening to was “Take Five" and that’s what started playing
when the music came on. Ohoo! Ohoo!
