realized that Vance was doing what he did best, strategizing and maybe he
was not as mad at her as she had been thinking. She began to relax a little,
Raheem looked at her and she looked at him and he shrugged his shoulders
giving the indication that everything would be okay.
Vance told Dee Dee that her problem was solved and that the guy would
not be a bother for her ever again. Then Vance said, “If you ever have a
problem that you cannot handle call me, not Regina. Because, then you will
not just have a problem with someone else, but you will have a problem with
me”. Dee Dee knew Vance was the message that he was sending at the time.
And, besides we are family and Vance looked at her and smiled. Then Dee
Dee asked, how did you and your friend know what was going on? First off, I
had my suspensions before Regina ever left Atlanta. Then when I got to New
York and called Regina, she called me baby that never happens, she would
always greet me by saying hi Vance or hey Vance, never hi baby. From there
it was fairly easy to follow you guys to the motel and find out what room you
were in. But, how did you know about Dave? We paid the maid to listen in on
you guys. Wow, Dee Dee said, you pay that much attention to my cousin?
Yes, Vance said, with a look of surprise. That is what you do for your Love
Supreme; give them your undivided attention consciously and unconsciously.
Once at Dee Dee’s house, Regina and Dee Dee went inside and Vance and
Raheem stood outside talking. Thanks again man, Vance said. No problem
Vance, I know you would have done it for me. I thought you were really going
to throw him over the balcony, Raheem said as they both started laughing.
