19c NICS or State Agency response
Check the appropriate box for your transaction.
If you get a “Proceed” you may release the firearm.
If you get a “Denied” you may not release the firearm.
o See page 29 for NICS “Guide for Appealing a Firearm Transfer Denial.”
o Do not give the customer your FFL# or the NICS code word.
If you get a “Delayed” you must fill out box 21d.
For the “cancelled” box do not check this if a customer decides not to purchase a firearm or
decides not to do a pawn redemption. Only NICS, or state agency, can cancel a transaction.
If NICS cancels a transaction you may not release the firearm (Proceed to box 33).
19d After “Delayed” response, NICS or State agency response
Check the appropriate box for your transaction.
The first business day begins the next day of the transaction, not counting weekends or holidays.
If there is no resolution within 3 business days (not including weekends, holidays or the day the call
was initiated), you may release the firearm on the next day.
For the “cancelled” box do not check this if a customer decides not to purchase a firearm or
decides not to do a pawn redemption. Only NICS, or state agency, can cancel a transaction.
If the transaction was denied and later overturned, in addition to checking the “Proceed” and
entering the date, also check the “Overturned” box. If provided, attach the overturn certificate
issued by NICS or state agency to the ATF 4473 Gun From.
19e After the firearm was transferred response from NICS
or state agency.
Do not enter “N/A” for this box. This box is reserved for entries if NICS or State agency contact
the shop after the firearm has been transferred.

19f NICS examiner identification
Enter NICS examiner information if provided, it is optional. However, First Cash encourages our
coworkers to enter this information.

20 NFA Firearms
The National Firearms Act (NFA) requires that certain types of firearms and devices be registered.
Regulated firearms and devices include machineguns, short barreled (including sawed-off)
shotguns, rifles, and silencers. (See pgs. 45-48 for examples of NFA Firearms.)
Your customer should notify you if their firearm is registered with the ATF as a NFA firearm.
The firearms under the NFA are prohibited firearms by First Cash Policy and should not be taken
into pawn or purchased.
This box should be left blank if it does not apply. 14
