21 Concealed handgun license background exemption

 If your state has a permit, or license, that qualifies as a Brady alternative enter the
information here.
 Make a photo copy of the permit, or license, and attach it to the gun form.
 Ensure that the permit, or license, is not expired and the information matches the
customer’s ID.
 If the concealed handgun license or carry permit also qualifies for use as the
identification and is used as the primary identification it must also be included in question
20a.
 If this does not apply enter “N/A” or it may be left blank.
 If you have already submitted a background check and the customer produces a permit
or license that qualifies as a Brady alternative you must continue with the background
check and wait till you receive a response.
 Concealed permits, or licenses, that qualify as a Brady alternative only apply as an
alternative to a background check in the state that they are issued.

Recertification

 If the transfer of the firearm(s) takes place on a different day from the date that the
transferee (buyer) signed Section A, the transferee must complete Section C immediately
23 prior to the transfer of the firearm(s).

 The customer’s photo ID must again be checked at the time of the transfer.
