Rules for customers in the Armed Forces

 Milit ary ID by itself is not acceptable because it does not show residency.

 Milit ary Personnel should furnish a copy of official permanent (change of station) military orders and
they should be attached to the ATF 4473. (Orders should indicate transfer to current state.)

 For 18b on Alternate Documentation “Military Orders” should be entered.

 Electronic PCS Orders are acceptable. (Open Letter to FFL’s 1/13/1009)

 Do not make a copy of a military identification.

 If on active duty the State of Residence also is the State in which the permanent duty station is

located.

 If the Armed Forces member does not reside in his/her permanent duty station, in your state, the

buyer must enter both the permanent duty station address and residence address.

ProhibitedWeapons

The following weapons are prohibited:

 Short Barreled rifles (barrel less than 16 inches; overall length less than 26 inches.

 Short Barreled shotguns (barrel less than 18 inches; overall length less than 26 inches.

 Machine guns or parts of automatic weapons. Also prohibited is the possession of bombs,

grenades, rockets, mines, & similar war materials.

 Stolen firearms of any kind.

 Firearms with obliterated or altered serial numbers.
