GunLocks
Retail and Pawned handguns:
Every long gun that is sold will be accompanied with a gun lock or trigger lock.
All HANDGUNS that are sold or redeemed from pawn will be accompanied with a gun lock or
trigger lock.
If a customer wants to pawn a handgun that already has a lock, the key must accompany the
lock before you can accept the firearm into pawn.
ErrorsOnGunForms
What to do when an error is made on a 4473 gun form?:
If, before the transaction is finalized, the customer realizes that he or she misread a question and
inadvertently responded with an incorrect answer that would prohibit the transaction from
occurring, the customer may line through the incorrect answer, insert the corrected response,
and date and initial the change.
If you discover that a 4473 gun form is incomplete or improperly completed after the firearm has
been transferred, and you or the buyer wish to make a record of your discovery, photocopy the
inaccurate form. Make any necessary additions or revisions to the photocopy. You only should
make changes to section B and D. The buyer only should make changes to Sections A and C.
The corrected photocopy should be attached to the original 4473 gun form.

FirearmsAsGifts
What to do when a customer wants to purchase a firearm as a
gift?:
The gift for a friend (or relative) is okay as long as there is no reason to believe the friend would
be prohibited (as in a straw purchase) from possessing a firearm. If you get a “negative” feel to
the transaction then do not proceed.
