But with the marathons, extra motivation is key. “It’s really important to get support from
someone, and I have that with Patty,” she said. “We motivate each other and we have fun.”
In her work as a dietitian, she encourages people to start with baby steps. “I had a patient
who started by walking to the mailbox and back, then around the block, then a mile. Now
he is a marathon stair climber,” she said. “It is important to start small and then just keep
adding,” she said.
As an Extraordinary Achievement recipient, Fevergeon will be awarded 700 Vitality points.
When she is not in a marathon, Fevergeon’s passion is spending time with her family, including
her 8-month-old grandson Dylan, with whom she tries to spend as much time as possible.
Her next marathon will likely be in October 2013 in Chicago. In the meantime, she’ll keep right
on with her regular exercise with her family and friends. “This gives me time to socialize,
de-stress and stay in shape at the same time.”
