PASSENGERS ALONE TOGETHER
To be a passenger is to be alone in a crowd. An elderly man
reading a book on the commuter train, a businesswoman
typing furiously on her laptop on a short-haul flight, a toddler
watching cartoons on the Tube – these are all individual bubbles,
worlds barely intersecting. But this is how we like it. Imagine

if every passenger began shouting into their mobile phone or
blasting their music on wireless speakers. The result would be
cacophony. So we carefully police the boundaries of our bubbles
to peacefully coexist during the remainder of our journey.
