HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAM

The primary students of GIHS, Grades 1-3 observed Health and Wellness Week from14 -
th
18 April 2019 which was organized in their respective classrooms. The observance of this
program made this special week shines a spotlight on childhood obesity and the link
between nutrition, physical activity and learning – because healthy kids learn better! Every
child involved in the activity followed sound nutrition and regular physical activity. The
fundamental gain of this activity was to help the children understand and develop good
hygiene practices and promote positive attitude towards good health practices and
inculcate the need to include more fruits and vegetables in their diet every day.
Grade 1 – My Healthy Plate
The students made veggie monsters with mixed vegetables and talked about the health
benefits of vegetables used. The teacher cut the vegetables and the children put the
vegetable slices in plates to make a veggie monster. Each class came up with different types
of fascinating and radiant veggie monsters.
The children were given small paper plates where they arranged the cut pieces of vegetables
and created veggie monsters of various appearances. The children were profoundly
elevated and full of eagerness and showed great attentiveness in the activity .Later these
arrangements were displayed in the corridors for everyone to view.
Grade 2 – OUR BODY OUR HEALTH
The students of grade 2 prepared a healthy pyramid on “healthy kids are happy kids” with
pictures of healthy food.
