                                                         Science Week 2019 was an interactive event organized by Gulf Indian High School. It

                                                         was an event from April 22 – 25, 2019, including many activities and programs. In

                                                         addition, each day was designated by a theme with supporting programs emphasizing the

                                                         subject of that day. Everything in the world around us is built upon the Earth, grows on

                                                         the Earth, or depends on the environment of the Earth in some or the other way.in

                                                         accordance to this the Science week started with “Earth Day.” On 22 April students of
                                                         Grade 2 and 3 made posters on ‘Save Earth’ to mark the importance of Earth Day. To


                                                         learn more about the nature students collected different types of leaves from parks and
                                                         their neighborhood to make a herbarium. To inculcate the love for nature and habit of tree

                                                         plantation students made a miniature garden in glass bowl / plastic container. Terrariums

                                                         helped them to learn how plants, animals, and insects interacted with the real world

                                                         when soil and water is provided. Grade 6 to 8 students marked this day as “A Day for

                                                         Scientists”. A day to honor the scientist’s students brought their favorite scientist’s

                                                         poster with relevant information about them. Students were given a chance to familiarize

                                                         with the names of different scientists, their inventions and contributions to the society.

                                                         To mark the Earth Day and emphasize the need to save mother earth, senior students of

                                                         the school were involved in different activities depicting Earth Day. Grade 11F students


                                                         commemorated the Earth Day by having a special assembly. The assembly proceedings on

                                                         the importance of earth day and the need to protect it. Many interesting facts about

                                                         planet earth were also shared with the students. The assembly concluded with a pledge to
                                                         save and protect Mother Earth.
