II. Frequently Ask Questions (FAQs)
Question # 1: What are the ways to deal with various forms of bullying?
Answer: Here are some ways you can deal with bullying:
A. Walk Away, Don’t Engage – If you are being bullied, just walk away because
you're bigger than that person. Don’t engage, if you do, you’ll empower the bully.
B. Speak Up and Seek Help – Speak up and report the verified incidents to your
peers, parents, teachers and the appropriate authorities for proper intervention. Let
people close to you know that you’re being bullied so they can help you out and
give you guidance.
C. Boost your Self- Esteem – Believe in yourself that you are special and you are
more than enough. Surround yourself with people who are like you because if you
do so, you’ll tend to think that “I belong”. That will further boost your self-confidence
and you will, in turn, refuse to be bullied.
Question # 2: What are some ways to help stop the bully-victim cycle among students?
Answer: SGEN is implementing the Anti-Bullying Programs and Policies to assure “Zero
Tolerance against any form of violence against the students”. The school takes appropriate
disciplinary administrative sanction against the bully/perpetrator and parents/guardians of the
bully/perpetrator are notified for the actions taken. More so, parents/guardians of the bullied are
notified regarding the action taken to prevent any further act of bullying or retaliation. if the
School believes that Criminal Charges under the Revised Penal Code may be pursued against
the bully/perpetrator, the Law Enforcement Agency will be notified.
Question # 3: If there are bystanders and they were called to the office and asked what
really happened but did not tell the truth because they are at the bully’s side, what will
the school do?
Answer: The school has an Anti-Bullying Program changing the role of bystander as a major
component wherein the bullies cannot be successful in their cruel deeds through these not-so-
innocent bystanders to aid and abet the bully through acts of omission and commission. The
school teaches the students how to intervene safely and pro-socially in situations of bullying. If
the bystander is with the bully’s side, he/she will surface himself/herself with Disciplinary
Administrative Sanctions and appropriate Criminal Liability if warranted under the circumstances.
