9.2. Battery Replacement

To replace the battery, first loosen the hatch cover screw and then remove the hatch from
the Processor Module; this exposes the battery. Use a small screwdriver to gently lift the
battery clip and slide the old battery out of the battery holder.
Slide the new battery into the Processor Module (refer to Section 3.2 for battery
specifications). A “+” sign is etched into one side of the battery indicating the positive terminal;
make sure that the positive terminal is the side of the battery that touches the battery clip when
installed.
NOTE:
After changing the battery, it may be necessary to set the clock. Configure
the GuardII+ using the IAM software, and if the clock needs to be set the
software will ask if you wish to synchronize the time with the computer.
Carry out this step immediately after changing the battery.
