User Instructions

                                    NOTE:
Active power and asset temperature are crucial to the operation of the
GuardII+ PD Triggers. If these operating conditions are not available, then
several Triggers cannot occur. Refer to Section 4.6 for details.
Similarly, the ambient temperature and ambient humidity are used for
processing the Up-Trend Triggers; these Operating Conditions are not as
crucial, but not having these operating conditions available will limit the
                                    capabilities of the monitor.

For each Operating Condition, the following information is needed:

                      Parameter Notes
The unit being measured; i.e., “MW” or “kV”.
Unit If “disabled” is selected as a unit, then that Operating Condition will not
                                             be read.
The IP address of the Modbus data source.
                      IP Address
This is supplied by the customer.
The IP port number used to connect to the Modbus data source.
The default value of 502 will be correct in most cases.
                      Port
If a non-standard port number is needed, then the correct port number
will be provided by the customer.
The communication timeout used when establishing the connection to
                      Timeout the Modbus data source.
The default value of 500 ms will be correct in most cases.
This determines the function code of the Modbus register.
The default value of F03 Holding Register will be correct in most cases.
                      Function Code
If a different function code is required, then the correct code will be
                                             provided by the customer.
                                          This determines the data type being read from the Register Address;
Data Format i.e., ‘Signed 16-bit Integer” or “Float”.
This is provided by the customer.
This is used when multiple Modbus slave busses are connected to the
                                             same IP address.
                      Slave ID
The default value of 1 will be correct in most cases.
If a different Slave ID is required, it will be provided by the customer.
Register Address This is the Modbus register address; it is provided by the customer.
This is the translation formula used to convert the raw Modbus data to
                      Formula the Unit selected.
This is provided by the customer.
For the ambient temperature and humidity, there is also a checkbox to indicate if they are
being acquired from an ambient sensor connected to the monitor instead of a Modbus source.
