November 13t h.
I visited my hometown of Sale for the day. It was
Memorial Day and I was there for the Remembrance
Service (below) in front of the Town Hall. When I was a
kid, we lived a few blocks from the Town Hall and went
to the service with my father many times.
After the ceremony I was invited to join the Major and
other dignitaries at the Town Hall for tea and
cucumber sandwiches. So very British.

Heading to Faro in Portugal today to see yet another
old musician friend. Phil is a pianist I worked with for
several years on cruise ships, mostly in the
Caribbean.
We spent one of those years on the QEII doing the
north Atlantic run from Southampton to New York.
This was a memorable year that took us to the north
cape of Norway and the Norwegian fjords, Bermuda,
and more places than I can remember.
Phil?s villa is in a town called Praia da Luz on the south
coast of Portugal. It was a great visit with the final
night playing Jazz (right) with several of Phil?s
musician friends till 2:30 in the morning. I will be
back.
