Welcome Message by the President of MEFOMP
The Board of Directors of the Middle East Federation of Medical Physicists (MEFOMP)

welcomes the participants of the 18 Asia-Oceania Congress of Medical Physics (AOCMP)
th
and the 16 South-East Asia Congress of Medical Physics (SEACOMP). The successful
conduct of the AOCMP in 2004 and this upcoming congress show the continuing effort of
the medical physics societies in the region in improving and promoting medical physics
services in all parts of the region. We are impressed with the dedication of the officers of
Asia-Oceania Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics (AFOMP) and South-East
Asian Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics (SEAFOMP) and the participation of
the Medical Physics Division of Malaysian Institute of Physics for giving medical physicists
the opportunities and venue for scientific learning and exchange. You are indeed a
contributing arm of MEFOMP in making the medical physics profession flourish and grow;
in developing qualified and expert medical physicists.
The theme of the conference “A Sustainable Future for Medical Physics” is another noble
step for contributing and sharing to the medical physics communities within and outside
Asia-Oceania region the current and new technologies and how medical physicists will be
able to cope with the changing state-of-the art modalities.
MEFOMP wishes AFOMP and SEAFOMP success in this endeavour. We shall look forward
to having more future collaboration with you.
