GRACE, Exploring Its Riches
the moment Jesus received grace He went about diligent
work in strategic areas:
i. He used His grace to deal with the spiritual root of
issues on earth, confronting the devil in his territory
and prevailing over him in it (Colossians 2:15). This is
strategic victory, as most issues and maladies befalling
humanity are controlled from the realm of the spirit.
ii. He went about doing good by liberating people out of
ignorance with His teachings about the Kingdom of
God. He also demonstrated superior power, and by
His grace liberated those oppressed of the devil in any
form.
iii. He did not restrict Himself to a geographical location:
“He went about doing good....” He went to cities and
villages in an age when there were neither vehicles nor
air travel. He must have done a lot of trekking.
We see that with Jesus grace was not enough to please the
Father. He engaged grace diligently. In imitation of Christ,
the Christian in any field of human endeavour is required
not only to receive grace but to be diligent to put grace to
effective use as Jesus did. Whether in ministry, marriage,
business, politics, daily living, scholarship, parenting or
entrepreneurship, grace must be received and put to
diligent use. We need to teach these values in this
generation. Grace does not replace hard work. It
complements and amplifies hard work.
