GRACE, Exploring Its Riches
o far we have studied some vital dimensions of the
grace of God. We have studied God-given avenues
Sfor His grace to flow into our lives. We have also
explained practices the grace of God should be expended
on, and what things this grace should produce in the life of a
believer. As we take our study further we need to
understand environments we may find in our lives which
can set the grace of God in motion. These we refer to as
Grace Drivers.
Grace Driver 1: Diligent Work
There was a story shared by Kenneth Hagin of a pastor who
visited with a member of his local church who was into
farming business. The pastor visited the farmer’s corn farm
and was impressed with the vast acreage of cornfield with
endless rows of corn on the verge of harvest. The pastor
exclaimed, “Wow! See what the Lord has done”. The
farmer responded, “You should have seen the land when
the Lord had it to Himself”.
Don’t misjudge the man. The lesson I see in the
conversation is that God gives raw materials but expects
man to work with the raw materials to produce refined and
finished articles. One of the requirements for turning raw
materials into refined and finished articles is diligence.
Diligence is constant and earnest effort to accomplish what
is undertaken. It is persistent exertion of the body and mind
towards a particular objective. We rarely get to accomplish
anything of significance without diligence.
