2. Grace to Prepare for Heaven
As we go through this world’s pilgrimage we should have a
clear vision of life beyond this world. Eternity should be a
clear goal for every Christian, and for this we have each
received grace. The consciousness of eternity is a sign that
we are convinced about life beyond this natural earth. It
also makes every recipient of grace to be aware that this
world is a stage, a dress rehearsal for the life beyond this life.
This also makes it imperative for the wise person to see the
time in this life as opportunity for investing in eternity. To
live life as if all starts and ends in this world can rob you of
the opportunity to prepare for eternity.

One of the greatest human tragedies is to be ignorant of
eternity. Heaven is real, and hell is real. All redeemed souls
who are in heaven already were people who were conscious
of heaven and prepared for it while on earth. Conversely, all
souls that are in hell today were people who while on earth
gave no thought about attaining heaven and escaping hell.
They did not prepare for heaven. And just as those who fail
to plan have planned to fail, so those who do not plan for
heaven have inadvertently planned for hell. Grace is given
to man to, among other things, prepare him for eternity in
heaven.
