GRACE, Exploring Its Riches
Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on
My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My
Father on His throne. He who has an ear, let him hear
what the Spirit says to the churches”
(Revelation 3:14-22).
So you see, God’s correction, rebuke and call to repentance,
as these examples have shown, is out of His love, not
because He delights in judgment. God would rather have
His saints genuinely repent than lose us. That’s why those
who refuse to repent but obstinately continue in their sins
and errors have only themselves to blame – they can’t even
blame the devil – if their souls should be lost at the end. “Say
to them:
‘As I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘I have no
pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the
wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn
from your evil ways! For why should you die, O
house of Israel?” (Ezekiel 33:11).
As we have noted, repentance is possible, acceptable and
scriptural for all, even for Christians.
