Taiwan Scholarship Program Guidebook for
Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Program study in Taiwan

• In what situations will a one-month stipend be withheld?
1. MOFA Pre-degree Mandarin Language Program:
•Absence from language classes for 12 or more hours in a month, except in
cases of serious illness or accident.
•Failure to achieve an average score of 80 percent or above beginning from the
second term/quarter of study in Taiwan.
2. Degree Program
•Failure to achieve a specified minimum academic average score for a semester
(MOFA Taiwan Scholarship Program: 60 out of 100 for undergraduates, 70 out
of 100 for postgraduates; MOE Taiwan Scholarship Program: 70 out of 100 for
undergraduates, 80 out of 100 for postgraduates; if the educational institution
does not set such a score, then the minimum academic average score will be
60 percent for undergraduates and 70 percent for postgraduates).
3. MOE Huayu Enrichment Scholarship
•A b se nce fr om lang uag e classe s f or 12 or mor e hour s in
a month, except in cases of serious illness or accident.
•Failure to obtain the standard score set by the university (an
average of 80 out of 100) starting from the first semester (quarter).
•For recipients of a nine month or longer scholarship without a Level 3
or above TOCFL certificate within 2 years prior to enrollment must hand in the
certificate one month before the end of the scholarship term.
