Diploma in
DURATION: 2 Years or 4 Semesters
The Diploma in Cosmetology programme is designed to impart
practical and theoretical knowledge and skills in beauty culture as
well as to equip prospective cosmetologists with desirable
professional attitudes.
For the first year of the programme the emphasis is placed on
hairdressing while in the second year, beauty therapy is the main
focus. At the end of the course of study, students may be exposed
to six weeks of an industrial attachment.
Students may also have the opportunity to attain the Caribbean
Vocational Qualification (CVQ) Cosmetology Level 2.
Career options available to graduates from this programme
include Beautician, Hairstylist/Hairdresser, Barber, Esthetician,
Manicurist, Pedicurist, Makeup Artist, and Nail Technician.
