Certificate in
Nursing Auxiliary Studies
DURATION: 1 Year or 2 Semesters
The Certificate in Nursing Auxiliary Studies programme equips
students, seventeen years and older, with the competencies needed
to provide basic nursing care to older adults. It addresses the quality
of life, the needs of older persons and the type of care giving facilities
required to maintain their health, dignity and productivity.
As part of the programme, students are required to complete 180
hours of clinical attachment in health care institutions that offer
specialised care to older adults.
Graduates fronn this programme have the following as possible
career options: Nursing Auxiliary, Nursing Assistant, Health Aide,
Home Health Aide or Orderly.
