SENIOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME
SLP: A QUEST FOR
GOVERNANCE IN ASIA
Japan is known for its civic engagement,
whether in forms of labour unions, residents’
movement and grassroot community
organisations. This modular programme
introduced senior public officers at the
local administration level to the Japanese
social and political issues and how civic
engagement has enabled conversations that
encourages progress. Upon observation in
Tokyo, participants regrouped and apply the
lessons learned in Malaysia through their
respective action learning project.

effective and high performing teams and
working with stakeholders with competing
interests and goals in this digital age.
