SOARING TO EXCELLENCE
MY EXPERIENCE AT DOVELAND.
I joined the Doveland family on the 7th of
September, 2016. My first class was year 5 onyx
and my teacher was Mr Omolowo. A er three
months some of us were moved to year 5 silver
and Mrs. Abayomi became my class teacher.
On my first day in year 5 onyx, I was able to make 3
friends. These were Adaeze, Emmanuella and
Chloe.
Chloe was the first person I met. She welcomed
me and gave me a seat by her side. We learned
together and had fun together. We sat close to
each other in class and when we went for club
ac vi es or on break, we were always together.
We both loved the trampoline and that was where
we ran to once break me was announced. Did we
influenced who joined us in the trampoline and
how long each set stays on?
In the second term we went on an excursion to the
Na onal Assembly. We visited the red chamber
which is known as the Senate.
My dad and mum celebrated me when I had 78.6
as an average score in my first term result but they
said I could do be er.
Learning at Doveland was very rigorous.
Some mes the teachers allowed us only about 10
minutes break in order to cover what they needed
to cover in a certain period.
The clubs I par cipated in were Home Makers and
JETS. My favourite subjects were Numeracy
Literacy and I.CT. I did very well in year 5 and in
third term I was promoted to year 6.
Year 6 was a unique experience. We were
required to prepare for entrance examina ons
into secondary school and it was rigorous. My
class teacher in year 6 was Mrs Chinwendu.
We also had Mr. Efadi, our literacy teacher.
A en on was on core literacy and numeracy
subjects. We were all enthusias c to learn in
order to have a smooth transi on to secondary
school. Some of my friends from year 5 were also
in year six and we all had fun.
I like Doveland Interna onal School because of
the high quality of the curriculum.
