SOARING TO EXCELLENCE
MY EXPERIENCE AT DOVELAND.
I came to Doveland on September 2016.
I was in year 5 Onyx. My class teacher was Mr
Omolowo. My literacy teacher was Mrs. Abayomi.
On my first day, I was very shy because of so many
faces, but I later got to know them all.
My first friend was Tein. I made more
friends in the course of my stay. I endeared myself
to many of my schoolmates because of my unique
accent. They liked the way I talked and wanted me
to be their friend.
In year 5, we had two field trips. The first
field trip was to the Na onal Assembly. We visited
the two chambers. These were the senate which
consists of 109 senators and the House of
Representa ves with 360 members. The second
excursion was to African Independent Television
(AIT). AIT is a Nigerian TV channel that broadcasts
news, entertains, and informs in a unique way. It is
a television sta on in the African way.
Towards the end of the term we went for a
field trip to the na onal assembly for the second
me. Unlike the previous trip, we visited both
chambers. The Senate is headed by the Senate
President currently. The Senate President was
Senator Bukola Saraki while the Speaker of the
House of Representa ves was Hon. Yakubu
Dogara.
We resumed in second term with a new
class teacher, Mrs Chinwendu. There were also
new literacy and numeracy teachers, Messrs.
Efadi and Cosmas. They helped in consolida ng
our literacy and numeracy skills.
There were many events in our final year
but my most enjoyable event was the Doveland
Fun Fair 2018. I had a lot of fun. Now we are
preparing for gradua on. Doveland was a place of
learning and fun.
