his approach to life, human society and the world at large, were adversely affected. False
ego, conceit and ignorance are the root causes for totally spoiling Man's thoughts, speech

and deeds. Since this deteriorating process is in vogue from historical times till date,
human life is eroded by grief, distress, physical and mental diseases. Let us therefore

briefly try to understand how this deterioration actually occurs in human life and how he
can overcome these adverse influences.

Human Body a Tape Recorder

People during their lifetime perform actions at three levels of thought, speech and
deeds. Reactions to these actions at these three levels are either in the form of Pāpa,

that is unmanifested evil reaction to the evil action, or in the form of Punya, that is
umanifested good reaction to the good action. Man during his lifetime accumulates Pāpa

and Punya as unmanifested reactions which affect and effect his life adversely or
beneficially. In this context, Man must know that the human body is a marvellous tape

recording machine which records actions at all the three levels of thought, speech and
deeds. While video tape recording machine records only sound and picture, the audio

tape recorder, records only sound of all types. However, both the video and audio tape
recorders are incapable of recording the thoughts of human beings as well as their subtle

feelings and emotions such as desires, hatred, anger, greed, suspicion, affection, love,
respect, etc. However the humantape recording machine can continuously, secretly and

accurately record all types of thoughts, feelings and emotions as well as the actions
performed by Man through his sense organs, his organs of knowledge and his inner

organs of mind, intellect, etc. While the matter recorded by video and audio tape
recorders can be erased, the thoughts, speech and deeds recorded by the human tape

recording machine can never be erased. Thus, the human tape recorder is a unique
recording machine, which records everything on the tape of its subtle consciousness. The

function of recording on this tape of subtle consciousness is performed by the
subconscious mind through its intuitive power, very accurately, skillfully, naturally,

secretly and continuously. All actions performed by Man, whether good or bad, are
recorded on this tape of the subtle consciousness which eventually becomes Man's

record, on the basis of which his destiny is determined. The most wonderful aspect about
this phenomenon is that, Man is totally ignorant about the very existence of this secret

and accurate tape recording machine, as a result of which he becomes totally careless
and negligent while performing actions at the three levels of thought, speech and deeds.
