said, "That is the reason why!" meaning "He is the King because he deserves to be a
King.'' Thus this story appropriately illustrates how the mace-bearer, the baron, the
minister and the King used the power of speech and proved to the sage and others their
calibre and their worth. Briefly, the power of speech has enormous importance in the life
of a person, because through his speech each individual shows what type of a person he
is. In this context, the following two stories are equally appropriate. Once a donkey while
roaming in a jungle, found the skin of a tiger. The donkey put on that skin and after
wandering around entered a village. Seeing this 'tiger', the people and other animals of
the village, being frightened, started running away in different directions. Seeing
everybody running away out of fear, the donkey was intoxicated with joy and giving vent
to his nature, started braying with joy. The moment people heard the braying, they
realised that the creature was not a tiger but really a donkey. The result was that, people
mercilessly thrashed the donkey and taught it a good lesson. If the donkey had remained
silent without uttering any sound, it would not have faced the humiliation. In this
context, there is another story about a debate between the teeth and the tongue. The
teeth said to the tongue, "Don't be puffed up. We together are thirty-two, while you are
quite alone. If we so wish, we will pulverise you completely.'' Hearing this, the tongue
replied, "Even though I am alone, I can teach you a good lesson. If I simply wish, I can
crush you all to pieces. Just wait, I will teach you all a lesson in a moment.'' At that very
moment a strongly built man was passing by. The tongue abused him in a harsh and
uncultured manner. Hearing the abuse, the man became violent and he slapped the face
of the abuser with great force, so that all the thirty two teeth fell on the ground. Such is
the great power of the tongue, i.e. Man's speech. Hence JEEVANVIDYA states,
"one who conquers the tongue, will conquer the mind and one who conquers the
mind, will conquer the world.'
Performing Actions Harmoniously is a Parees(Philosophers stone)

into gold. Every person is indebted to the society in which he lives it and it is his duty to
repay this social obligation. A person who fails to perform this duty, is an offender in the
court of God. In fact, it is possible for each person to repay this social obligation
according to his ability and capacity. Man can repay this obligation of society by
performing benevolent actions such as donating food, blood, wealth, labour, knowledge,
