                                 TOPUCU Key Words & Phrases / Glossary

                Clear Concise Mental Picture (CCMP) – Visualize your success!  Develop a clear mental
                picture of what your future looks like if you finish what you start.

                SMART Goals:
                       S – Specific
                       M – Measurable
                       A – Achievable
                       R – Results Focused
                       T – Time- Bound

                Four (4) timeframes for goals:
                       Short Term – Relatively small, very obtainable, goal with a timeline of 30 days
                       Mid-Term – Obtainable goal, which requires more planning and discipline, with a timeline of six
                       months
                       Long-Term – A goal which requires a great deal of planning and discipline with a timeline of one
                       year
                       Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG) – Ultimate goal of where you want to be, requiring a very
                       significant amount of planning, discipline and sacrifice.

                Six (6) areas for Goals:
                       1.  Family
                       2.  Social Life
                       3.  Finances and Work Life
                       4.  Spiritual and Mental Health
                       5.  Physical Health
                       6.  Personal Application (i.e. education, vocation, etc.)

                Law of reciprocity -  Social psychologists call it The Law of Reciprocity – and it basically says that
                when someone does something nice for you, you will have a deep-rooted psychological urge to do
                something nice in return. As a matter of fact, you may even reciprocate with a gesture far more generous
                than their original good deed.

                Importance of reading morning and night – We tend to focus on those things we read or think
                about at the beginning, and the close, of each day.  By reading over your goals daily you will have
                greater focus and improve your odds of staying on course and becoming a finisher.
