settled down and I really felt that I could not only do this
but – I might even enjoy it.
The Q&A session was somewhat contentious when
questions arose about our explanation of the mechanism
of fatigue flaw growth and fracture at cryogenic
temperatures, but the argument ended with me being an
observer of senior scientists and professors arguing with
each other on the floor of the auditorium.
From this day forward I almost relished the prospect of
getting in front of an engineering or scientific audience to
present information that I had become an expert with.
What a change in my life!
METICULOUSNESS
All of us working in a large corporation, at some time,
report to a manager that grates on us. Now, I am anything
but a “neatnik” and I normally don’t have bad feelings
toward those that are, but there is almost no way to
suppress the desire to “pull a tail” when that trait extends
